Welcome.

A lifelong student of Torah, I have studied and taught across the Jewish religious spectrum. I grew up attending an ultra-Orthodox yeshiva high school while davenning regularly at a Renewal synagogue (in other words, inhabiting two extreme ends of the religious spectrum of Jewish life simultaneously). That lived experience of Jewish pluralism has deeply informed my teaching and consulting work, as I strive to blend reverence for the tradition and an awareness of the spiritual power of Torah study with an openness to all forms of Jewish thought and practice and a commitment to translate Jewish sources to all potential audiences.

I have taught in living rooms, day school classrooms, college campuses (both for-credit classes and informal education for the Jewish community) and online for a variety of adult audiences, synagogue groups and rabbinical students. I seek to share the exposure I have had to traditional text study with all learners, especially those who were not privileged as I was to have all classroom doors opened to me at such a young age.

My teaching style is warm and empowering - Torah learning is for you, even and especially if you have had past experiences that made you doubt that truth. I seek to empower all students with the skills to better access Torah learning on their own, whether that is rolling up our sleeves and tackling Hebrew and Aramaic texts in the original or gaining a deeper understanding of the interrelationships between the various texts on the Jewish bookshelf.

If you are looking for an opportunity to deepen your relationship to Jewish life and learning - for yourself, your community or your organization - I would love to talk to you. Please reach out to schedule to time to meet with me.
